Current Chairman of Lewis and Clark County Commission
to Seek 2nd Term
(Helena) Commissioner Ed Tinsley today filed for re-election to the Lewis and Clark County Commission.
“I love my job,” Tinsley said. “Working for the people of Lewis and Clark County is a great honor and I am excited about the opportunity to continue to serve,” Tinsley continued.
Currently serving as the Chairman of the Commission, Tinsley was first elected in 2002. Prior his election, Tinsley worked as the Land Board Advisor and Senior Outreach Coordinator in the Montana State Auditor’s office and as the Chief of Enforcement for the Montana Securities Department.
As a Commissioner, Tinsley has been a leader on community planning, protecting water quality, public safety and county budget issues. Tinsley said, “We are focused like a laser beam on protecting public safety, water quality and ensuring that growth occurs in a way that is consistent with the wishes and values of all citizens of Lewis and Clark County.”
He serves as a volunteer board member for a number of community groups including Shodair Hospital, Helena Area Chamber of Commerce, Montana Business Assistance Connection, the Friendship Center and the Pat Barnes Chapter of Trout Unlimited.
“What tomorrow looks like in our County is going to depend on the decisions we make today” Tinsley said. “Ours is a changing and growing community, and with that comes the opportunity to decide what we want our community to look like. I want to continue helping lead that process and make sure every resident has the opportunity to help shape our future,” Tinsley said.
A 1992 graduate of the University of Montana, Tinsley also graduated from the Montana Law Enforcement Academy. In 2007, Tinsley received a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Montana.
